    • We begin in Piazza Barberini, beside the Fontana del Tritone, where our kid-friendly guide meets the group and introduces the journey below the city. It is an easy, open start: a chance to say hello, set expectations with young explorers, and look at the square before heading to the first underground stop. From here the walk continues on foot to the Capuchin Crypt.

    Rome keeps a second city beneath its streets, and we invite families to descend into it layer by layer. Our kid-friendly underground tour begins in Piazza Barberini, beside the Fontana del Tritone, where our guide meets the group and sets the scene before we go below.

    The first descent takes us to the Museum and Crypt of the Capuchins, where the museum introduces the life and traditions of the Capuchin monks through artifacts, paintings, and quiet stories. The crypt below holds their remarkable bone arrangements, a place we present calmly and in an age-appropriate way, so curiosity wins over any unease.

    Next we reach the Basilica of San Clemente, the heart of the experience. Built on three levels of history, it opens onto a medieval basilica with its mosaics and frescoes, an ancient Roman house, and a pagan temple buried far below, one layer resting above the other. Children enjoy following how each level was built, forgotten, and rediscovered, and the underground passages keep the storytelling moving. It is a place where archaeology feels like a treasure hunt.

    The route ends at the Ludus Magnus, the largest gladiator school of ancient Rome, where the remains of dormitories, training areas, and a small practice arena sit close to the Colosseum. We close with tales of gladiators preparing for combat, and because this is a private tour, our guide adjusts the pace, the games, and the level of detail to each family.
