The Vatican Museums and St. Peter's Basilica can feel overwhelming for a family, so we build this private tour around the way children like to explore: stories, games, and discoveries that keep every generation curious. We meet guests at Caffè del Vaticano, enter with skip-the-line access, leave bags in the cloakroom, and head straight for the museums.

Inside, the visit becomes a treasure hunt. We stop at the Greek and Roman statues and at the sarcophagi of the Empresses Helena and Constantina, mother and daughter of Constantine the Great, then move through the Galleries of Candelabra and Tapestries toward the Gallery of Maps. Quizzes and scavenger hunts keep the children involved, and small prizes reward the sharpest eyes. Raphael's Rooms and the huge canvas of the Sobieski Room show how popes once used art to tell stories.

We then reach the Sistine Chapel, where the conclave elects each new pope and where Michelangelo painted The Last Judgment. Silence is required inside, so before we enter our guide introduces the Creation of Adam and the other biblical scenes depicted in the frescoes, giving children a story to follow as they look up.
